Two hunters are out in the woods when one of them collapses. He doesn’t
seem to be breathing and his eyes are glazed. The other guy takes out
his phone and calls the emergency services.

He gasps: “My friend is dead! What can I do?” The operator says: “Calm
down, I can help. First, let’s make sure he’s dead.” There is a silence,

Bit of a brain wave this morning. Yesterday I saw mention that one London police man was blaming the violence on video games and of course we all know that video games cause people to … be more violent / rob / murder and those things never existed before video games.

Well this game has been around a while now and I reckon it’s behind all the problems with housing and the banks.

The Chronicles of OS X Lion

Playing around with some graphics tonight .. looking at some stock photos of lions making up the standard OS X style image of a Lions head against a star field and it suddenly struck me … The Chronicles of OS X Lion …

Found a very cool Map of the Narnian World

Grabbed a Star Map from Flickr under an Attribution license …

May play with it a bit more at some stage but happy enough for now .. a bit rough but kinda fun to do.

OSX Ginger Kitty is nearly here

So I ended up grabbing OSX Lion and performing an upgrade yesterday and everything went without a hitch. Nice picture of a lion and of course it got me thinking he’s just a big Cat no? And so the world famous model Squishy The Cat came to mind and hey presto I give you the possible 10.8 release of OSX.

Good grief I hear you say .. he’s everywhere where will he appear next?

An Abraham Lincoln Colour Photo

So after my last photo colour manipulation … Charles suggested doing something a bit more challenging …

He Suggested Abraham Lincoln and Napoleon Bonaparte .. one problem with Napoleon Bonaparte was that he died in 1821 and .. photography as we semi know it was only invented in 1820′s

So I searched for a high quality image of Abraham Lincoln and well it’s a bit tricky to find truly high quality photos of him I mean it is 150 odd years ago … but I settled on this image

(At least I hope it’s a photo and not a great painting in some strange black and white mode … charcoal for the rest of us possibly)

Making a few selections on bits and bobs and running it through a few filters at the end I came up with …

So in my own opinion it’s not bad … I’ve no idea what he looked like originally apart from his own description of himself which seems to be …

” If any personal description of me is thought desirable, it may be said, I am, in height, six feet, four inches, nearly; lean in flesh, weighing, on an average, one hundred and eighty pounds; dark complexion, with coarse black hair, and grey eyes — no other marks or brands recollected”

Edit: I should add yes it’s got a bit of a cartoony feel to it / painting feel but I’m not sure if that’s a limitation of what I’m attempting to do with a low res photo or what. I’m not trying to actually edit the photos too much just to tweak the original lack of colour

Converting a Black and White Photo of Audrey Hepburn into Colour

So at Valérie-Anne’s suggestion I’m now trying to convert a Black and White photo of Audrey Hepburn into Colour

And a bit of conversion in a similar way to my previous post on Converting a Black and White Photo into Colour

And hey presto we get …

Once again the hair is causing me issues … so I pretty much didn’t touch it this time around … now … who to convert next … any suggestions ?
